Festival of Light and Laughter at Megadim Village

Ofir, a young SOS Volunteer shares his Hanukah experience at the village

"We opened the eight-day Festival of Light at Megadim  Village with a contest between the Ancient Greeks (our senior kids) and the Maccabees (the juniors).
During the day the village got into the holiday spirit with festive decorations and special Hanukah music.
Various booths offered games and arts and crafts with a holiday theme. One third grader commented, "I've never had so much fun with a tenth grader!"
And two happy fifth graders said, "We wish everyday was Hanukah!"

The celebration culminated in one glorious and unforgettable evening.
Everyone gathered in the event hall full of holiday atmosphere and decorations. After the candle lighting ceremony by donors and village representatives, the senior girls sang, followed by the junior girls who danced to a Hanukah song.
One of the dancers said, "I've never enjoyed myself so much!" Later in the evening, a comedy was presented on the stage.
It was a surprise which pleased the crowd who roared with laughter.
The play told the holiday story in the context of a popular children series. Disco and donuts  helped in the build -up the evening energies. One house mother remarked, "It's the best play that's ever been staged here in the village."
